The Turkeyshoot Play Day
Marymoor Park- Redmond, WA
Picture
Both of our teams competed in another great Play Day at a local favorite, The Turkeyshoot. The tournament format was 4-25 minute games. The biggest theme we saw from our teams is GROWTH. They are getting better every time they step on the field and they are starting to play more like a team.

It was also finally a tournament with decent weather! We will practice in the next couple of months and conclude our Fall season in sunny California..

HASHTAG OF THE GAME WINNERS:
Each game, we pick a word or a phrase and label it the "hashtag" of the game. The award is given to the player who embodies that word in the game.

2024/2025:

If you could have dinner with any 3 individuals who would they be?
My Aunt Wendy and Aunt Connie—I was two young to know them and would have loved to see what my mom’s sisters role in my life would have been if they were still alive today.  I would also love to have dinner with Mia Hamm...always been a huge fan and she has been a constant insirpation in my life!

Winning the first ever Big East Championship vs. Georgetown in the Dome my senior year.

Northwest Fall Fest
November 4th & 5th
Yakima, WA

What an amazing weekend we had at the Northwest Fall Fest! It was our first "tournament" style competition of the fall season, and we were excited to play some good teams and see where we stand.

The first day was "pool play" where each team had two games to determine seedings for the Playoffs. Our 2022/2023 team dominated the day, and went into Sunday seeded at the top of their pool. Our 2024/2025 played up an age all day. While they had some tough games, they played hard, learned a lot, and grew significantly as a team!

After our games Saturday, we had a "legendary" program-wide dinner before Sunday's Playoffs games. We bonded through pizza and laughs, and got PUMPED for Sunday!
Picture

Sunday morning started off with a little surprise when we got to the field- SNOW!! Our players had a BLAST using their sticks as shovels and embracing the day's obstacle.

For our Sunday games, we were matched against teams in our age group. Both teams had some hard battles, but one word was the theme for CitySide: RELENTLESS. Our teams refused to back down when they were losing. Some of the highlights include:

-THIS overtime goal by 2024 Alex Gardner in a come-from-behind-win for CitySide 2024/2025 against 3D.
-Our 2022/2023 team WINNING the entire Middle School bracket at the tournament! They came from behind in the finals to beat a strong 3D 2023 team.

CONGRATS!! We couldn't be more proud of how hard the team fought to win. We can't wait for our next tournament!

HASHTAG OF THE GAME WINNERS:

One of my goals is to have the girls become comfortable with feeling uncomfortable -- to have fun with the growing process.  It is so important to get used to feeling uncomfortable in order to grow in lacrosse (and in the classroom -- and any aspect of life).
I hope to give them a solid foundation so they will know what they need to keep working on during the off season. Lastly, I want to share my love of lacrosse and that feeling of not being able to get of it ---and to bring that energy to every practice/game/meeting!
