I was born in Seattle WA and I still live in Seattle WA

Marlee and me

Do you have any pets?
Yes I have a dog named Moose and he is a English black lab and I have one fish which I forget his name.

What are 3 words that you would use to describe yourself?
Energetic, caring, athletic

What does being part of CSL meant to you?
Being on Cityside is such an honor. I’m so thankful that I made the team and I have these amazing coaches that will teach me so much! And I’m also very thankful for all of my new friends which are more like family already!

If you could have dinner with any 3 individuals who would they be?
It would be with my granny who passed away a couple of years ago and, my mom's dad because I never got to meet him bc he died when my mom was only 8 and he sounds like he has a great personality! My last person would probably be Lindsey Vonn because she is a strong and inspirational skier and she would be lots of fun to hang out with. 

What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
Umm well there was this one time at practice and it was our last practice so we got water balloons and there were these like football players like high school ones on the other side of the field and we decided to sabotage them! It was fun!

What are your favorite inspirational quote?
“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud” by: Maya Angelou

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I think it would be chicken curry with rice because it’s got protein and there are lots of variety of the different Curries.

Favorite School subject?
Well I love P.E but like Educational class would be writing because we always have so much fun and we make up some really funny story’s!

What is your favorite place you’ve ever been?
Well every year I go to my cottage up in Muskoka Canada and my whole family is there on my dad's side and we get to hang out with our cousins and have so much fun!

Who is one person you look up to and why?
I look up to Hillary Bowen because she is so kind and funny and she is an amazing athlete. She is one of my cityside coaches and she teaches us so many amazing plays, dodges and, other things that make us successful in our lacrosse filled lives. 

Besides lacrosse, what other interests do you have?
I love to bake and I also love to make business and be an entrepreneur. 

If you were an animal, what would you be?
I would be a flying squirrel because one, they can fly and two, they are small cute animals!

Any hidden talents?
I have a business called sugar cloud and sugar cloud is a cotton candy business so I can spin cotton candy!

What are your goals for lacrosse?
I hope to get a scholarship for lacrosse to a good college and I hope to be playing lacrosse for EVER!

I was born in Watertown, NY and now I live in Normandy Park, WA.

Any of the Harry Potter movies!

Do you have any pets? 
Two labs! Scarlet Brown and Winnie Cooper!

What are 3 words that you would use to describe yourself? 
Energetic, competitive, compassionate.

What does being part of CSL meant to you? 
Being part of CitySide for the last two months has been a great experience!  I quickly gained a great lacrosse family and have created some awesome friendships already.  I’m really looking forward to seeing the success of the CitySide girls lacrosse program!

If you could have dinner with any 3 individuals who would they be? 
My Aunt Wendy and Aunt Connie—I was two young to know them and would have loved to see what my mom’s sisters role in my life would have been if they were still alive today.  I would also love to have dinner with Mia Hamm...always been a huge fan and she has been a constant insirpation in my life!

What is your favorite lacrosse memory? 
Winning the first ever Big East Championship vs. Georgetown in the Dome my senior year.

What are your favorite inspirational quotes?

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? 
Before I moved to Seattle, I would have said Pizza because you can put ANYTHING on top of pizza—BUT, since moving to Seattle, I would have to say Ezelle’s Chicken.  Just sayin.

Favorite School subject? 
Shop and Metal class.  I still have/use the water pump lamp I made in 7th grade.

What is your favorite place you’ve ever been? 
The family trip we took to Alaska this summer—23 hours of daylight! Sign me up for all day activities—hell skiing, hell hiking, water skiing, fishing, hiking, etc...!

Who is one person you look up to and why? 
I have always looked up to my parents because they do it all!  They’ve been there every step of the way for me and I have no idea how they juggled mine and my brothers crazy schedule...sometimes it seemed like they could be in two places at once.

Besides lacrosse, what other interests do you have? 
I love to cook—I’m a total foodie.  I also love being outdoors, so really anything that comes with outside, I’M INTO IT!

If you were an animal, what would you be? 
I would love to be a bird!  I want to fly...

Any hidden talents? 
I am a 3rd degree brown belt in Kang Duk Kwon Karate.

What are your goals for lacrosse? 
To see the women’s game stay true to its traditional roots and keep the finesse and the beauty of the game but continue to grow with the increasing athleticism and skill of the youth.

It's like my home away from home -- being back on the lacrosse field and playing/coaching/growing with this AWESOME group of people!!

the first year of picking up a stick (6th grade) and playing for hours in the backyard with my older brother, counting how many catches we could get

My grandmother.  She is constantly reading and absorbing the world around her. She knows so much about nature, literature, history, current events, and is so humble about it all... She always gives me meditative, loving words of wisdom! 

Besides lacrosse, what other interests do you have? 
painting, hiking, making spotify playlists (i have over 200...), making highlight films, trail runs 

If you were an animal, what would you be? 
reality: golden retreiver puppy, dream: any kind of whale 

Any hidden talents? 
Painter!! 

What are your goals for lacrosse? 
One of my goals is to have the girls become comfortable with feeling uncomfortable -- to have fun with the growing process.  It is so important to get used to feeling uncomfortable in order to grow in lacrosse (and in the classroom -- and any aspect of life). 
I hope to give them a solid foundation so they will know what they need to keep working on during the off season. Lastly, I want to share my love of lacrosse and that feeling of not being able to get of it ---and to bring that energy to every practice/game/meeting!

One of the times when me and Clara were playing and I was going to shoot on goal but Clara was right behind me so I passed to her, she shot and got a goal and I was really happy.

# of Years Playing Lacrosse: 11ish years

Where were you born & where do you currently live? 
Seattle, Washington. I live in Denver, Colorado during the school year and Seattle in the summer. 
An interesting fact about me and where I am from is that I am a tri-citizen. My dad is Swiss and my mom is Canadian, which makes my sister and I Swiss, Canadian and American.

Favorite Pump Up Song? 
Remember the Name by Fort Minor

Favorite Movie?
Miracle, Harry Potter Series, About Time

Do you have any pets? 
I have a little dog whose name is Trevor, but we call him lil trev.

What does being part of CSL meant to you? 
City Side means so much to me. In the past two years Hilary and the staff have taught me plenty of new lacrosse skills, but they have also taught me how to be a good person. Each coach I’ve worked with at City Side truly care about each girl and focus on empowering young women. I have loved the role models that City Side has given me which hopefully will allow me to become role models to young girls.

What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
My freshman year I met my teammate Daisy. She is 10 now and my teammate through a program called Team Impact which matches a child with any kind of serious illness with a college sports team. Daisy has now beaten cancer twice and just recently has been diagnosed for a third time. Last year as she began to lose her hair my team went to a shaving event in which many people had signed up to shave their head for childhood cancer. At this event I impulsively decided to shave my head for my incredible teammate. From then on we have become best friends. This is a special friendship that lacrosse has given me.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The obvious answer here is potatoes. There are so many different ways to eat them. Baked potato, hash browns, French fries, chips, mashed potatoes, potatoes wedges. 
But if I could pick a type of food I would chose all Asian food. 

Favorite School subject?
Social Psychology

What is your favorite place you’ve ever been?
My favorite place in the world is probably Discovery Park. It has many amazing memories because I grew up hanging out here with my family. I love being able to see the water, the mountains, and trees all in one place.

Who is one person you look up to and why?
I look up to my dad. He works so hard every single day, but he loves it. He wakes up excited to go to work and cook. I hope that one day I can love my job and life as much as he does. He has shown me that I don’t need to settle and I should keep shooting for the stars.

Besides lacrosse, what other interests do you have? 
My secret and favorite hobby is puzzling. I love to puzzle because it relaxes me, takes a lot of attention, and there is no way to cut corners and cheat. when I am not puzzling I am likely hiking, hammocking, exploring a local market, or finding the perfect outfit at a thrift store.

If you were an animal, what would you be? 
I have a friend who is 13 and she told me once that my spirt animal is a grizzly bear. I feel like it fits pretty well

Any hidden talents?
I collect socks. It all started in high school when my friend got me a pair of eagle socks from the zoo. My collection has only grown. Some of my favorite patterns are Canadian flag, dinosaurs, Space Needle, avocados, and snowmen.   

What are your goals for lacrosse?
Next season I hope that my team can win its first NCAA tournament game. Then ultimately win the entire thing.

High School/College: Brighton High School and Northwestern University (Go Cats!)
Favorite Position: Midfield because you get to do a little of everything BUT my place of comfort is as a lefty crease attacker
# of Years Playing Lacrosse: 18 years I think! 

Where were you born & where do you currently live? 
Rochester, NY & Seattle, WA

Favorite Movie?
The Sandlot

Do you have any pets? 
No…but some day I will rescue a dog

What are 3 words that you would use to describe yourself? 
Friendly, Warm, Optimistic

What does being part of CSL meant to you? 
Being a part of CSL means so much to me. The crew at CitySide were my initial family out here in Seattle. They made me feel at home when everything was new and unfamiliar and I knew very few people. So right away, CitySide means family. Moreover, when I arrived in Seattle I thought that I was burned out from lacrosse. In CitySide I found the niche I needed to rekindle my love for the game by sharing it with others in a way that felt very natural and energizing to me. With that, it has meant cultivating and being a part of a community built on love, connection, joy, and personal growth and development.

If you could have dinner with any 3 individuals who would they be?
1. My mom- she passed away when I was 3 so I would love the chance to get to know her
2. Abraham Lincoln- I love him and want to learn more about who he was
3. Ellen Degeneres- it would make dinner constantly entertaining and we would probably dance
4. The Dalai Lama –  that guy is always smiling and seems to bring really good vibes (sorry I know this is a 4th person in a question about 3)

What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
The last few moments of the National Championship my senior year. It was a tough year as I had torn my ACL half way through the season. Our coach’s father had also passed away mid season and he was one of our biggest supporters. We ended with all of the seniors on the field and it was just an extra special moment. But that moment would have meant nothing without the many amazing yetseemingly insignificant moments that I shared with my teammates every day at practice. That is why the experience was meaningful.

What are your favorite inspirational quotes?

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

American History

What is your favorite place you’ve ever been?
Nicaragua.  A six-hour drive out of the big city of Managua and a two hour drive on the back of pick up trucks way up into the mountains. I went during my senior year of college and it was the first time left the country. I had the opportunity to go with a number of Northwestern students on this service trip (including six of my lacrosse teammates). We played with the kids in the village and even introduced them to lacrosse. It was the first time I really combined my love for lacrosse with my love for service work and discovered how much I enjoyed traveling as well. Since then I have coached and done service work in Uganda and Jamaica and have traveled with Team Ireland to Prague (and soon England!).

Who is one person you look up to and why?
My dad. He is my guy. My mom passed away when I was really young and he has always been my rock. He was not only my biggest fan through my college years (he is a lax rat who never played!) but he has always encouraged me to be myself, to follow my dreams, and that hard work pays off. He also always held me accountable, taught me to see commitments through, and has always been there for me when I need him. He is just a really great dad and good person. Love you, Dad!

Besides lacrosse, what other interests do you have?
I love to travel and see new places. I love to read, listen to podcasts, go to live music, go for walks, and hang out with my friends and family. My interests change with the season but come summer it is hiking, spikeball, 3x lacrosse, and getting afternoon cold brews at Starbucks Mad Park.

If you were an animal, what would you be?
Well, I wasn’t sure so I just took an online quiz. It said I am a swan, whatever that means.

Any hidden talents?
I don’t think so… if they exist they are currently hidden to me too

What are your goals for lacrosse?
I live by certain principles that are same no matter what I am doing – to be myself, to continue to evolve, and to make sure care and connection at the forefront of what I am doing. So, with lacrosse, my goal is to always bring my best self to the field, to continue to grow as a player and coach, and to build and enrich relationships through the game!
